We are delighted to have been invited to contribute to the exhibition and conference on Design Computing by Professor Henri Achten, exhibiting our Sense IV project in the Czech capital.
Five days of intense study observations, walking and general enjoyment, we say goodbye to this incredible place, the Venice Biennale. Many inspiring projects and exhibits, but one project still remains a class beyond everything else – the Nordic Pavilion by Sverre Fehn from 1962. Conceptually, instrumentally and in its execution, Fehn’s project is a masterpiece.
The COWI Foundation funds our new research project on Thermal Adaptive Architectural Membranes, where we interweave architecture, engineering and perceptional psychology (AAU+AREA+AAA+KEA), based on our continuous development of the Sense Projects.

New prototype of moisture and acoustic regulating wood fibre panels installed at the Building Green Conference Copenhagen 1-2 November. A ongoing innovation driven collaboration between AREA, RobotAtWork and KKS-Woodfibre Denmark.
Article on 'Six Causalities' formulated by Isak on the definition of Environmental Tectonics, showing also the Sense III and IV projects in the Danish Journal 'Arkitekten'. The journal is distributed to all architects in Denmark and additional subscribers to the journal.
We are working on new methods and design models by robotic manufactured articulations of externally applied insulation layers to existing buildings. The novel approach was initiated upon invitation from Robot At Work, including other profiled partners, Rockwool and Danish Technological Institute.
As part of the conference held by Copenhagen municipality on the future of the city’s facades, we have been invited to show current research, methods and models that address formation and transformation of facades towards greater environmental performance. We are delighted to take part in this event for architects, engineers, contractors and the like with an interest in advancing the facades of the city.
We will present the research behind the thermally activated responsive building envelope, Sense IV, at the 2016 International Conference for Structures and Architecture, held in Portugal. The presentation and publication will exhibit the underlying idea, computational/simulation models and images of the full scale prototype.
We have presented and published our studies from the Sense II project at the eCAADe2015 Conference in Vienna, Austria. Our paper can be obtained at:

The research work behind the Sense III project will be published in the forthcoming book 'Modelling Behaviour' edited by Mette Ramsgaard Thomsen, Martin Tamke, Christoph Gengnagel, Fabian Scheurer, Billie Faircloth, published by Springer Verlag. We are excited to take part in the Design Modeling Symposium Conference, which the book is based on.
Isak has defended his PhD thesis 'Environmental Tectonics - Matter Based Architectural Computation' in the Utzon Center auditorium through an engaging and inspiring discussion with the assessment committee.
Isak is invited by Assistant Professor Niels Martin Larsen to give a talk as part of the OpenRoom Seminar 'Digital Fabrication in Future Architecture' at the Aarhus School of Architecture. 50 free seats are available at: http://aarch.dk/…/events-exhibiti…/openroom/openroom-signup/
