PASOLD FOGED is a research and innovation driven architectural studio that focuses on the making of novel, environment sensitive architectures. Projects are developed through explorative design processes, using methods grounded in architecture, design, engineering, crafts and the sciences. Imagination, innovation and collaboration drives the philosophy of our architectural design studio.
Crossing Cultures
Through studies in Denmark, Germany, Spain, Austria, United States, Australia and Italy, in architecture, engineering, design and fashion, we seek cross pollination of ideas, methods and solutions.
Material and Technique
Material and fabrication technique studies lies at the center of investigation. We connect building, craft, heritage and emergent technologies into novel applications. This involves experimental material processes and development of new dynamic composites through bespoke making processes for architecture.
Computation and Simulation
Advanced computational processes empower our explorations, allowing broader and deeper design studies. Techniques are employed from the earliest concept studies, to the final documentation, enabling collaborative design search and extensive documentation in tandem.
Test and Share
Evaluating and testing of projects is done in laboratory and field conditions, often with collaborators, to ensure comprehensive insights, documentation and dissemination, allowing us, partners, and others to learn from the projects we develop. We publish findings in leading peer-review journals and conferences, and translate these into open-access podcasts and project videos.
